I see how highly God values everyone... and me. It helps me understand how to show love to God and others by choosing to serve those around me, especially when it's not convenient. And I better get how my life isn't about "getting my way," but to show God's love -- even when I've been wronged at levels that I cannot describe.The keys this book made available to me are: 1) The answer to what a disciple looks like is in God's Word and clearly summarized in Romans chapter 12; 2) it's not about doing, but about being; 3) it's impossible to become a disciple of Christ apart from His transforming power; and 4) I AM a disciple of Christ with a plan to continue becoming more and more like Jesus.Oh... and I'm not a big reader, but the way this book is laid out made it so I could take it at a pace that fits who I am.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK to all Christians -- to all followers of Christ.

This is the perfect book for anyone who wants to grow up in their Christian faith. The book contains a multitude of helps or resources outside of the pages of the book to access online. It is so comprehensive in covering everything that can move a person forward who may be stuck in a rut in finding the next pursuit to help bring deeper understanding and appreciation of God. I need to go back through this book and thoroughly engage with the many suggested materials outside of the book. It would be hard for me to imagine any Christian finding anything to fault about this book. Chip has a humble servant attitude and never comes across as thinking he got it right the first time and did not need to pursue growth for himself. I have shared this book with a few people at church. It is that kind of book that you want to give to people to help them out as they have various struggles.

If you are looking for a no-nonsense guide to developing or deepening a relationship with Christ, this book is for you. Chip did this teaching at our church, and we used the material in our Home Group as well. In this book Chip presents a five part profile from Romans for living an "all-in" life.The prescription in this book is elegant in its simplicity; it is presented in a way that makes it easy to comprehend, easy to follow, and perhaps even more important easy to go back to and review as we grow and mature.I'll be honest; I've not perfected all of the steps in this book. Some come easy. There is one in particular that I still struggle with on a pretty much daily basis. The good news is that ... we'll, I don't want to spoil it, read Chapter 10.

Excellent study by Chip Ingram. Really explained the dynamics of what Jesus meant when He said "we are the body..." AND how we as Christians should live out our lives one with another.We have intentionally been meeting every Friday evening for supper and the studying of God's Word. As well as sharing our struggles one with another with transparency&vulnerability. Chip did an excellent job in putting book together and made it very easy & applicable to be lived out in these troubled times.

Once again, Chip hits one out of the park!What does it really MEAN to live like a Christian? How do the day-to-day, rubber meets the road, "what am I supposed to do now?" questions get answered from a man who's been in the trenches with us regular folks for 30-some years, now?
