Each chapter consists of what amounts to a blog post, some hyperlinks, a profile of some famous vagabond cribbed from a wikipedia entry (Thoreau, Whitman), quotations from literature and vapid travel writers. Basically the amount of author written content here is about 80 pages of a 240 page book. The rest is filler. This is a trick of Tim Ferris disciples; you get a bunch of other people to more or less write the book for you. Then the people you quote or tout write glowing reviews. Ferris books actually contain useful information; this one, well, maybe it is useful to someone. Not to me.And what content. Banal "be humble while traveling" advice. Egg noodle fortune cookie hokum. Weird "you can do it" wowzerism. Useless "avoid getting Montezumas revenge" and "try not to be a crime victim" advice.I'm a fairly seasoned traveler, contemplating doing a several month nomad jag. This book is not helpful to me. I am assuming there is some population somewhere; 20 year old backpackers who don't read their Lonely Planet guides maybe. I'm not that guy.

I'm still reading this book (about 3/4 of the way through) but am geting caught up writing reviews. It's not a mystery - I doubt there will be surprises in the last quarter of the book.This book is a MUST for anyone contemplating a long period of time away from home base. My husband and I will be traveling for 18 months or so with only a quick stop off at home once or twice to catch up with family and friends. We often take off for a month or six weeks and were planning our 18 months in the same kind of way. After reading Vagabonding, we've changed our outlook altogether and are feeling even more excited (if that's possible) about getting started.The book is full of helpful websites and anecdotal examples to better explain and back up the author's tips.Even experienced travelers such as ourselves benefit immensely from reading this book.

Truly inspiring book! Rolf gets to the point by decoding one of the most fascinating aspects of life: exploring new cultures and places. He does in such a humbling and sincere fashion that has impacted my life since I first read it, a handful years ago. Although I have always enjoyed immersive and simple travel experiences, after reading this book I saw myself traveling in a more reflective manner. I was actually motivated to go on 4-month bicycle tour across the country, as well as on a handful mountain climbing expeditions in different continents. That all said, traveling doesn't have to be expensive—it's all about how we feel the world around us. After all, I genuinely believe we all can leave our comfort zones to explore the unknown.

This book did an amazing job distinguishing the difference between people who take vacations and people who travel instead. A few of the websites are dated, but I still believe this book is a great place to start exploring the differences between vacationers and travelers, especially if you’re bored with the traditional vacation options and want a more meaningful vacation.For me, vacations are not so much time to get away and relax, but more of a time to explore and have memorable and meaningful experiences in life.This book does a fine job pointing out many do’s and don’ts when it comes to traveling, and it also introduces us to different attitudes to enhance our holiday experience. It’s one of those, “you don’t know what you don’t know.”This book is one of those books, that you’ll say, wow I wish I would have read this years ago, but beware it might spoil your traditional vacation spots forever.

I'm the kind of person who, as a child, the teacher would have to shoo the birds away from the window, because I could never pay attention in class. I couldn't help it. I daydreamt about the freedom of those wonderful winged creatures and how, if they didn't desire this spot or that one, they could easy flap their wings and fly away. I still do this...So when I was working and listening to the Tim Ferriss podcasts and how he sounded so passionate about travel, it rekindled that fire. I picked up a couple of other travel books and it seemed, no matter what or who, this book was mentioned. I hesitated because I couldn't explain the price when so much is free on the net. However, I finally did it when I realized it wasn't a simple purchase but an investment to my desires and dreams.I regret not buying this sooner! It was multiple times more useful from it's impressive amount of knowledge and links and book names to further enhance one's study to wherever in the world one wants to go! For the first time since the Corps, I'm looking at long term travel again - but on my terms! Thank you Rolf, for this work of art, and to all those who helped push this book. I add my name to that list proudly! Again, this isn't a simple purchase of fancy, this is a great self-investment with huge returns!

This book was very well written. It gives a lot of resources concerning traveling vagabond style. When I bought it, I had no plans to be a vagabond and still don't but it did give me some confidence, curiosity and possibly even a little more interest in traveling the world by foot, plane, bus, camel, bike or whatever mode of transportation I might find in these exotic places. It gives me a feeling that there is a certain group of people who know a secret that others who don't travel this way are not privy to. He gives great advice and if you plan to travel, even like a normal tourist, you would be wise to read this book first so you can really savor your experiences instead of going through the motions. Very recommended for anyone whether they plan to travel or not!

A wonderful book written with humility. The author offers ideas and suggestions and talks about his own choices, but makes it clear that everyone’s adventure is unique and just because he did things one way, that is not the only way. So, if you’re the youngest in a big family where it seems like everyone has already “done everything”, this is the book for you. It’s about your adventure, not about the adventures others have already had.

This book will definately appeal more to the casual collector then the serious 'hard core' collectors of militaria. That's not to say that the book does a poor job of covering the intended subject. Instead it is a good attempt to cover to large a subject area in just one book. In it's attempt to cover all areas of militaria of every country involved in WWII, it had to make sacrifices. Due to the large amount of content, it has to limit the amount of photos, sometimes to the extent that one wishes they could see the items described. Instead, the author tries to show you an example, followed by a long list of related items without pictures. I don't want to give the impression that this book lacks photos, because it doesn't. In fact the photography is excellent. It's just that there has to be a compromise between photos and text.For the casual collector this book is, like someone else wrote, a great coffee table book. For a serious collector of specific kinds of militaria, or a complete and comprehensive study of a specific country's militaria, then this is not the book for you. As for values listed, I wish I could sell all of my militaria at the prices quoted. The best quote I heard a long time ago about values was, "it's only worth what another collector will pay you". Let that be your value guide.

This book tries to do too much and ends up not doing quite enough. There are plenty of pictures and quite a few price estimates, but a lot of what you get are lists of items with no pictures. The book covers so many different areas from clothing to weapons to medals and insignia to holsters and daggers and swords and on and on that it can't really cover everything in pictures. That isn't to say there aren't plenty of pictures, it just means that for every picture there are five items that are simply listed and not detailed in a photo. It is helpful, but leaves you wanting more. The prices are simply a snapshot in time. Prices on many items are currently going up which means the ones in the book are off, but they are good for giving you a range. The pictures are very good and worth having and the advice is sound, so don't walk away if you are looking for a little help. Just don't expect this book to answer all of your questions.

I only have a few WWII military items but actually got no help with this price guide. I realize there are just too many items to include my rather unusual item. I gained more knowledge from the internet.

It was OK. Just not much new information in it.

This book is a generalist and I wanted specifics on German WW2 collectibles.

Just finished reading. Ketogenic Instant Pot Cook Book, and I instantky started practicing what it told me. I loved it that it not only taught me the benefits and theory of ketogenic diet, but it also included a variety of recipes which I have already made some! After trying some of the recipes I felt better, and can actually get used to doing this diet. Again there are a variety of recipes so yoi can always change things up, and keep it exciting.

Cheaply produced. It was printed on a copier and probably bound at a Kinko's. You can find all the same recipes online with a quick google search, and I haven't encountered one yet that was extraordinary.

How can you take a book serious When the none of the page numbers are correct? Also as long as you are familiar with using an instant pot you can get through the cooking directions ok ! Thankfully I ordered a couple of others cook books and a great owners manual for my instant pot. I would send it back but don’t want the added expensive. Buyer beware

If it was possible to give this book zero stars, I would. Making a “book” with basically photo copied pages, inaccuracies and grainy pictures, is not making a “book”. It is creating a pamphlet.Don’t do it... the inside of this book is nothing like its beautiful cover. I liken it to a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I have already prepared some recipes of this book and they were really great. I liked this cookbook very much and I'm glad to have it on my Kindle to use when I need it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to eat healthy and delicious food. It is worth reading. Loved recipes.

Most folks like myself are on by themselves. So why is it every book with recipes have to serve 4-8 people. I have tried to find one that is specifically for 2 but no success. Otherwise this is a great book, good explanation of Keto and the recipes look very good.

Very short! I think I counted 52? recipes in here. Most of which I had seen on Pinterest, or already have made. It does not look professionally made.
